Rolling a tiny petal with a full-size rolling pin only flattens it. A slim rod gives you control over the thickness and lets you thin the edge, so a petal looks delicate instead of heavy.
Use the rods to roll, thin and frill small pieces of fondant or gum paste. Nine in the set means you can keep several to hand while you work, and the colours make them easy to spot on a busy worktop.
